Do I need a permit for an addition in Maryland?

Yes — always. Footers, framing, electrical, plumbing, and final inspections. We handle the entire permit process in Carroll, Howard, Baltimore, and Frederick counties.

How long does an addition take?

A bump-out: 6–10 weeks. A full family-room addition: 3–5 months. Second story: 4–6 months. You get a written schedule in your proposal.

Can we live in the house during construction?

In almost every case, yes. We seal the work zone from the living space and keep utilities running. Second-story additions need more planning — we’ll be straight with you about the rough weeks.

Will an addition add value to my home?

In our market, well-built additional finished square footage typically appraises strongly — and an in-law suite is one of the most requested features in Maryland right now. We’ll design with resale in mind even if you never plan to sell.
