Patios & Hardscaping in Maryland — Outdoor Rooms That Don’t Sink

Every sunken, weed-cracked patio in Maryland has the same autopsy result: a cheap base. Pavers don’t fail — bases fail. Frost heave, clay soil, and our wet springs destroy anything built on two inches of wished-for gravel.

AmeriPro Remodeling builds patios from the dirt up: excavate deep, compact in lifts, screed clean, and only then set the surface you’ll actually see. Licensed (MHIC #108556), insured, family-run since 2010 — with a 10-year workmanship warranty that covers settling, not just materials.

What We Build

Paver Patios

Concrete pavers, porcelain pavers, and natural flagstone in any pattern — laid over a properly engineered base with polymeric sand joints and edge restraints that keep everything locked for decades.

Fire Pits & Outdoor Living

Built-in fire pits, seating walls, outdoor kitchens, and pergolas. The features that turn a slab into the room your family actually uses three seasons a year.

Walkways & Front Entrances

Curb appeal that survives Maryland winters: paver walkways, stoop wraps, and front-entry landings pitched to drain away from the foundation.

Retaining Walls

Engineered segmental walls with proper geogrid, drainage stone, and weep paths — walls that hold the hill instead of leaning into early retirement.

Drainage Solutions

French drains, channel drains, downspout burials, and regrading. Often the difference between a patio that lasts and a patio that floats.

Patio & Hardscaping FAQ

How much does a paver patio cost in Maryland?

Most of our patios run $22–$38 per square foot installed depending on material and site access — so a 400 sq ft patio typically lands between $9,000 and $15,000. Fire pits, walls, and lighting are itemized separately. Fixed price before we dig.

Pavers or stamped concrete?

Pavers, almost every time. Stamped concrete cracks (Maryland freeze-thaw guarantees it) and repairs never match. A paver can be lifted and re-set invisibly. We’ll show you both honestly, but we know where our warranty money is safest.

Do patios need a permit in Maryland?

At-grade patios usually don’t; retaining walls over certain heights and structures (pergolas, outdoor kitchens with gas/electric) usually do. We know each county’s rules and pull every permit that applies — 100% of our projects are permitted where required.

When can you start, and how long does it take?

Most patios are 4–8 days on site. Spring slots fill by March — fall is Maryland’s secret best building season, and the patio is ready for the first nice day of spring.

What about my grass and sprinklers?

We protect lawn routes with plywood tracking, locate irrigation before excavation, and regrade/seed disturbed areas before we leave.
